Privacy Policy

Welcome to HireHer (referred to as “HireHer”, “we”, “us” or “our”). When you use HireHer services, you trust us with your information. This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. This is important; we hope you will take time to read it carefully.

HireHer provides a competitive, fast and fun way to streamline recruitment, talent acquisition and job searching by providing a platform to create a personal social network for job seekers to create dynamic profiles and recommend jobs to peers. It also allows employers to recruit diverse talent in innovative industries. There are many different ways you can use our services – to search for and share information, to communicate with other people or to create new content.  Our Privacy Policy explains how we, and some of the companies we work with, collect, use, share and protect information in relation to our mobile services, website, and any software provided on or in connection with HireHer services (collectively, the “Service”), and your choices about the collection and use of your information.

By using our Service you understand and agree that we are providing a platform for you to post content, including photos, videos, comments and other materials (“User Content”), to the Service and to share User Content publicly. This means that other Users may search for, see, use, or share any of your User Content that you make publicly available through the Service and we can make those Services even better to help you connect with employers, recruiters and job seekers or to make sharing with others quicker and easier, consistent with the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.

As you use our Services, we want you to be clear how we’re using information and the ways in which you can protect your privacy.

Our Policy applies to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service (“Users”).

Our Privacy Policy explains:

(1) INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information to provide better service to all our users.  We collect the following types of information:

Information you provide us directly:

You give personal data to create the account.

Many of our Services require you to register for an account.  When you do, we’ll ask you to create a username and password and for personal information such as your name, email address, and telephone number. This information allows us to help you or others be “found” on HireHer.

If you want to take full advantage of the sharing features we offer, we might also ask you to create a publicly visible HireHer Profile, which may include your photo or a video.

User Content (e.g., photos, comments, and other materials) that you post to the Service.

Communications between you and HireHer.

For example, we may send you Service-related emails (e.g., account verification, changes/updates to features of the Service, technical and security notices). Note that you may opt out of Service-related e-mails.

Information we get from your use of our services:

We collect information about the services that you use and how you use them, like when you post or view a video using the HireHer App, visit a website that uses our advertising services, or view and interact with our ads and content.

Finding your friends on HireHer:

You can give information from your device or social accounts so we can find your friends

If you choose, you can use our “Find friends” feature to locate other people with HireHer accounts either through (i) your contacts list, (ii) third-party social media sites or (iii) through a search of names and usernames on HireHer.

If you choose to find your friends through (i) your device’s contacts list, then HireHer will access your contacts list to determine whether or not someone associated with your contact is using HireHer.

If you choose to find your friends through a (ii) third-party social media site, then you will be prompted to set up a link to the third-party service and you understand that any information that such service may provide to us will be governed by this Privacy Policy.

If you choose to find your friends (iii) through a search of names or usernames on HireHer then simply type a name to search and we will perform a search on our Service.

Note about “Invite Friends” feature: If you choose to invite someone to the Service through our “Invite friends” feature, you may select a person directly from the contacts list on your device and send a text or email from your personal account. You understand and agree that you are responsible for any charges that apply to communications sent from your device, and because this invitation is coming directly from your personal account, HireHer does not have access to or control this communication.

Analytics information:

We collect and anonymize data from your phone and browser for analytics

We use third-party analytics tools to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Service. These tools collect information sent by your device or our Service, including the web pages you visit, add-ons, and other information that assists us in improving the Service. We collect and use this anonymous analytics information and combine it with analytics information from other Users so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify any particular individual User.

When you access or use our Services, we automatically collect other information about you, including:

Usage Information: When you send or receive invitations and photos via our Services, we collect information about these messages, including the time, date, sender and recipient. We also collect information about the number of messages sent and received between you and your friends and which friends you exchange messages with most frequently.

Log Information: When you use our services or view content provided by HireHer, we automatically collect and store certain information in server logs. This includes:

Your browser type and language, access times, pages viewed, your IP address and the website you visited before navigating to our websites

Details of how you used our service, such as your search queries, telephony log information like your phone number, calling-party number, forwarding numbers,

time and date of calls, duration of calls, SMS routing information and types of calls.

Internet protocol address, device event information such as crashes, system activity, hardware settings, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and referral URL, cookies that may uniquely identify your browser or your HireHer Account

Device Information: We collect device-specific information (such as your hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information including phone number). HireHer may associate your device identifiers or phone number with your HireHer Account. We may collect information about the computer or device you use to access our Services, including the hardware model, operating system and version, MAC address, unique device identifier, phone number, International Mobile Equipment Identity (“IMEI”) and mobile network information. In addition, the Services may access your device’s native phonebook and image storage applications, with your consent, to facilitate your use of certain features of the Services. For more information about how you can control our access to these applications, please see “Your Choices” below.

Location Information: With your consent, we will collect information about the location of your device to facilitate your use of certain features of our Services, and for any other purpose described in this privacy policy. Your location is used to connect you with HireHer users, employers and job opportunities near you. This information may be shared with third parties. For more information about how you can control our collection of location information, please see “Your Choices” below.

Information Collected by Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies: We use various technologies to collect information, and this may include sending cookies to you. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory that help us to improve our Services and your experience, see which areas and features of our Services are popular and count visits. We may also collect information using web beacons (also known as “tracking pixels”). For more information about cookies, and how to disable them, please see “Your Choices” below.

Information We Collect from Other Sources

We may also obtain information from other sources and combine that with information we collect through our Services.

(2) HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We use your data to provide, support, personalize and develop our services

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, protect and improve our Services, to develop new ones, and to protect HireHer and our users. We also use this information to offer you tailored content – like giving you more relevant search results and ads. In addition to some of the specific uses of information we describe in this Privacy Policy, we may use information that we receive to:

help you efficiently access your information after you sign in remember information so you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the Service provide personalized content and information to you and others, which could include online ads or other forms of marketing

provide, improve, test, and monitor the effectiveness of our Service develop and test new products and features monitor metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and demographic patterns

diagnose or fix technology problems automatically update the HireHer application on your device

HireHer or other Users may run contests, special offers or other events or activities (“Events”) on the Service. If you do not want to participate in an Event, do not use the particular Metadata (i.e. hashtag or geotag) associated with that Event.

(3) SHARING OF YOUR INFORMATION

We will not rent or sell your information to third parties outside HireHer without your consent, except as noted in this Policy.

Parties with whom we may share your information:

We may share your data across our different services and HireHer-affiliated entities

We may share User Content and your information (including but not limited to, information from cookies, log files, device identifiers, location data, and usage data) with businesses that are legally part of the same group of companies that HireHer is part of, or that become part of that group (“Affiliates”). Affiliates may use this information to help provide, understand, and improve the Service (including by providing analytics) and Affiliates’ own services (including by providing you with better and more relevant experiences). But these Affiliates will honor the choices you make about who can see your photos and videos.

We also may share your information as well as information from tools like cookies, log files, and device identifiers and location data, with third-party organizations that help us provide the Service to you (“Service Providers”). Our Service Providers will be given access to your information as is reasonably necessary to provide the Service under reasonable confidentiality terms.

We may also share certain information such as cookie data with third-party advertising partners. This information would allow third-party ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you.

We may remove parts of data that can identify you and share anonymized data with other parties. We may also combine your information with other information in a way that it is no longer associated with you and share that aggregated information.

Parties with whom you may choose to share your User Content:

Any data that you include on your profile, posts or social actions will be seen by others

Any information or content that you voluntarily disclose for posting to the Service, such as User Content, becomes available to the public, as controlled by any applicable privacy settings that you set. To change your privacy settings on the Service, please change your profile setting. Once you have shared User Content or made it public, that User Content may be re-shared by others.

Subject to your profile and privacy settings, any User Content that you make public is searchable by other Users and subject to use under our HireHer API. The use of the HireHer API is subject to the API Terms of Use which incorporates the terms of this Privacy Policy.

If you remove information that you posted to the Service, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of the Service, or if other Users or third parties using the HireHer API have copied or saved that information.

For external processing, we provide personal information to our affiliates or other trusted businesses or persons to process it for us, based on our instructions and in compliance with our Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

We may share non-personally identifiable information publicly and with our partners – like publishers, advertisers, or connected sites. For example, we may share information publicly to show trends about the general use of our services. What happens in the event of a change of control:

We may share your data when our business is sold to others, but it must continue to be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy

If we sell or otherwise transfer part or the whole of HireHer or our assets to another organization (e.g., in the course of a transaction like a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, liquidation), your information such as name and email address, User Content and any other information collected through the Service may be among the items sold or transferred. You will continue to own your User Content. The buyer or transferee will have to honor the commitments we have made in this Privacy Policy.

Responding to legal requests and preventing harm:

We may need to share your data when required by law

We may access, preserve and share your information in response to a legal request (like a search warrant, court order or subpoena) if we have a good faith belief that the law requires us to do so. This may include responding to legal requests from jurisdictions outside of the United States where we have a good faith belief that the response is required by law in that jurisdiction, affects users in that jurisdiction, and is consistent with internationally recognized standards. We may also access, preserve and share information when we have a good faith belief it is necessary to: detect, prevent and address fraud and other illegal activity; to protect ourselves, you and others, including as part of investigations; and to prevent death or imminent bodily harm. Information we receive about you may be accessed, processed and retained for an extended period of time when it is the subject of a legal request or obligation, governmental investigation, or investigations concerning possible violations of our terms or policies, or otherwise to prevent harm.

(4) HOW WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION

Storage and Processing:

Your information collected through the Service may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which HireHer, its Affiliates or Service Providers maintain facilities.

HireHer, its Affiliates, or Service Providers may transfer information that we collect about you, including personal information across borders and from your country or jurisdiction to other countries or jurisdictions around the world. If you are located in the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, please note that we may transfer information, including personal information, to a country and jurisdiction that does not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction.

By registering for and using the Service you consent to the transfer of information to the U.S. or to any other country in which HireHer, its Affiliates or Service Providers maintain facilities and the use and disclosure of information about you as described in this Privacy Policy.

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to help keep the information collected through the Service secure and take reasonable steps (such as requesting a unique password) to verify your identity before granting you access to your account. However, HireHer cannot ensure the security of any information you transmit to HireHer or guarantee that information on the Service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

Please do your part to help us. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information, and for controlling access to emails between you and HireHer, at all times. Your privacy settings may also be affected by changes the social media services you connect to HireHer make to their services. We are not responsible for the functionality, privacy, or security measures of any other organization.

Information security

We work hard to protect HireHer and our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information we hold. In particular:

We encrypt many of our services using HTTPS. We review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems. We restrict access to personal information to HireHer employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.

Lawful Bases for Processing:

We have lawful bases to collect, use and share data about you. You have choices about our use of your data.

We will only collect and process personal data about you where we have lawful bases. Lawful bases include consent (where you give you consent for use of your data), contract (where data is needed to fulfill a contract) and legitimate interests (e.g. legal requirement).

(5) YOUR CHOICES ABOUT YOUR INFORMATION

Your account information and profile/privacy settings:

You can access and control your data and communications.

Update your account at any time by logging in and changing your profile settings

Unsubscribe from email communications from us by clicking on the “unsubscribe link” provided in such communications. As noted above, you may not opt out of Service-related communications (e.g., account verification, purchase and billing confirmations and reminders, changes/updates to features of the Service, technical and security notices).

How long we keep your User Content:

Following termination or deactivation of your account, HireHer, its Affiliates, or its Service Providers may retain information (including your profile information) and User Content for a commercially reasonable time for backup, archival, and/or audit purposes.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

We will not intentionally collect information from minors

HireHer does not intend or knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 18 or knowingly allow such persons to register for the Service. See HireHer terms of service and disclaimer at www.HireHer.com. The Service and its content are not directed at children. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 18 without parental consent, we will delete that information as soon as practicable. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child younger than 18, please contact us at contact@hireher.com.

OTHER WEB SITES AND SERVICES

Our Privacy Policy does not extend to third party sites where you may share data

We are not responsible for the practices employed by any websites or services linked to or from our Service, including the information or content contained within them. Please remember that when you use a link to go from our Service to another website or service, our Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party websites or services. Your browsing and interaction on any third-party website or service, including those that have a link on our website, are subject to that third party’s own rules and policies. In addition, you agree that we are not responsible and do not have control over any third-parties that you authorize to access your User Content. If you are using a third-party website or service and you allow them to access your User Content you do so at your own risk.

YOUR OPTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR DATA

We keep you data while you have an account

We retain your data for as long as you have an account and use our services. You have the option to change or correct the personal data in your account. You can ask us to stop or restrict the use or transfer of all or some of the personal data in your account. You can ask us for a copy of your personal data. These requests can be made to our Data Protection Officer at contact@hireher.com. Keep in mind the restriction of use of your data may hinder or stop some of the services that are available to you from HireHer. European Union residents can make complaints to their Data Privacy Authority.

HOW TO CONTACT US ABOUT A DECEASED USER

In the event of the death of a HireHer user, we can work with a person authorized to act on behalf of the estate, or with a verified immediate family member of the deceased to have an account deactivated.

Email contact@hireher.com to request the removal of a deceased user’s account. After you submit your request, we will email you with instructions for providing more details, including information about the deceased, a copy of your ID, and a copy of the deceased’s death certificate. This is a necessary step to prevent false and/or unauthorized reports. Be assured that this information will remain confidential and will be deleted once we’ve reviewed it.

ACCOUNT CLOSURE

We keep some of your data after you close your account.

You can close your account at any time. When closed, your personal data will no longer be accessible to other users. We will generally delete customer information within 30 days of account closure accept for parts retained for legal purposes, regulatory compliance, resolve disputes, maintain security. Information you share with others using HireHer will also be kept. We will maintain anonymized information from your account after closure.

COMPLIANCE AND COOPERATION WITH REGULATORY AUTHORITIES

We work to resolve complaints

We regularly review our compliance with our Privacy Policy. When we receive formal written complaints, we will contact the person who made the complaint to follow up. We work with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, to resolve any complaints regarding the transfer of personal data that we cannot resolve with our users directly.

CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

Our Privacy Policy changes from time to time.

HireHer may modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time, so please review it periodically. We may provide you additional forms of notice of modifications or updates as appropriate under the circumstances. Your continued use of HireHer or the Service after any modification to this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such modification.
